EXAMPLE STORIES

The Scholar
By:Shenie Dayot

A scholar is a student who attends a school or studies under a teacher who has been given a scholarship of the university

I'm a scholar of my university and has a discount of 50% on my tuition fees. It's our responsibility to fulfill the 120 hours of duty before graduating if you fail to do this you will either pay your scholarship or the scholarship will be removed .So now every Wednesday and Monday ,i have a duty on one of the offices in the university . I serve as a student assistant of the teachers or staff at this office. As a student assistant you need to obey everything he/she tells you to do as long as it is related like delivering files/documents to other departments ,you need to balance your time so that it has no conflict with your duties .Sometimes its hard to manage because you have to study your notes, answer your assignments especially when your doing thesis/capstone that you need to do some research and study all night and wake up early because you have to go to school ,it is very tiring but you need to do things to graduate ,you should believe and have faith and never lose hope to reach your dreams and goals in life as a scholar. The good thing of being a university scholar is you learn another things in that offices ,communicate with other offices and you can learn when you observe on what they are doing in their offices/departments,improve your camaraderie and you can mingle with other student assistants they can add to your friend lists.

I decided to become a scholar because my parents cannot afford to pay my tuition and miscellaneous fees,I'm so thankful that my auntie is willing to help me in my studies .She accompanied to pay my tuition every semester but what she gave was not enough to complete my full tuition so i decided to become a scholar and now I can say that its enough for now on.My parents are responsible for my allowance and other billings .

As a scholar you need to be polite, friendly and hardworking student so that you can get along with others especially with co scholars/students .
You should also join the school affairs like acquaintance party or nay events in school so that you can enjoy the pleasure being a student .It is important not to be late in your subjects because you had to do something as a scholar you need to be in time because your department head will get angry because hey don t like to be late .

Difference of Public and  Private School
By:Jona mae Nicor

“Every thing has it’s own uniqueness! Every thing has it’s own differences!”

I’ve been once a student at a public University and now currently a student in a Private University (I am a transferee college student). As what I have stated above, I experienced on what are the differences of the two Universities.

Having a good looking school is awesome. Isn’t it? But if you’re a kind of “what’s important is that I can study well what ever the school’s structure is”  then that’s OK!

In public University where I’ve been, the school is just simple, there are buildings but not that high just like private University have. But in the other hand public University is wider than private University, just like public University has an oval field inside where sports are held every time there is an intramural, a farm where there are animals that are cared by agriculture students, there are trees inside, gardens and a lot more. While in private University, the space is just enough, the spaces are carefully divided and I think that’s why the buildings are up to 4th or to 5th floor. In private University almost all paths under your foot are concrete/cemented while in public University there are grasses inside the campus and the students there, each year level and courses have their own garden to take care of unlike in private University, there are janitors that cleans the whole campus.

When we talk all about the tuition fees, well public University has it’s advantage because in the University where I’ve been, the tuition is just around php5,000 per semester while in the private University, the tuition’s almost php20,000 per semester. A big difference, isn’t it? But that big difference has it’s own explanation. In public University, in that amount of tuition I paid during my time last, last year, the things I’ve learned isn’t that bad, in fact I have learned a lot in my chosen course even though the technology isn’t that hi-tech, the instructors/professors are very good in teaching and handling the class. What’s the difference in private University is that there are lot of opportunities that I have enjoyed just like attending seminars and work shops in which I have learned a lot.
This differences I have experienced and observed in both Universities is really a big help in me. It teaches me lot. And now I am still in the private school, enjoying the privileges the University offered but still reminiscing those good things I’ve learned in my former public University as a student.

By: Jonalyn Palic

His name is Marco, a fourteen year old and a second year high school student. He is very ambitious person, very kind person and God fearing person. This young man had lot of dreams to achieve in his life. First, he wanted to finish his studies because he believes in the saying that “Education is the Key to Success”.

Second, he wants’ to be an Airline Pilot, he wanted to raise his family from poverty. He wanted to be successful in his life to give back all the sacrifices that his family gave to him and last is to build a very beautiful and elegant house and give it to his family.

Every one of us has it’s strength and weaknesses. This young man said that in his life, his strength came from the Lord and the second one is from his family. His family gave him inspiration and strength  in order to be brave to face the trials that he encounter. Aside from his strength this young man also had weaknesses like in Mathematics and fear in height.

His favorite food is egg. He likes to read books like Almanac. He wanted to buy that kind of book but until now he can’t because its too expensive. His favorite anime character is Ash Ketch-um of Pokemon. He like Ash because they have the same characteristics like friendly kind and helpful to others.
